Hello, I'm Charlin!

Charlin Akin is a broker/owner of C Akin 4 Realty LLC, and after a long and fulfilling career in education decided to get into real estate on a whim.  In 2019, she obtained her real estate license and has since been selling both residential properties and farm and ranch. Given her passion for helping people and her desire to continue making a positive impact on others’ lives, she saw real estate as a natural extension of her ability to serve and assist others.  She recognized that through real estate, she would have the opportunity to help individuals and families navigate the often complex process of buying and selling properties.

Charlin is married to Banks Akin and along with their three sons, Shane Akin (Anna), Blaine Akin (Meghan), Josh Cotter (Jenna), and 8 grandchildren, who all reside in Stockdale, she has deep roots in the Wilson County area. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in English and a minor in history, and for 31 years, she worked in and around the area teaching English and journalism.  With her background teaching English and journalism, she felt equipped with strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills that would be valuable in the real estate industry.  In addition, she saw the potential to connect with people from various backgrounds, understand their unique needs, and find creative solutions to ensure a smooth and successful real estate experience for them.

Her need for helping others extends beyond her professional life as she is actively involved in giving back to her community through both time and donations.  One significant role she held was as the Chairperson of the Brahma Special Relays, an annual event dedicated to local special needs children.  Through this event, along with the many supporters, she aimed to create an inclusive environment for these children to participate in sporting activities. Charlin is also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she serves as a lector.

Ultimately, the decision to enter the real estate field was driven by the desire to continue helping and making a difference in people's lives, even outside of the classroom.  She enjoys balancing her professional pursuits with her dedication to family and community.  Call her if you are interested in making your real estate journey easier and more enjoyable.
